In the “Artisan Foodshopkeepers of İstanbul” seminar Mrs. Şatana introduced the participants, foodshop keepers of historic market places of İstanbul, through vibrant and colorful photographs she took. She drew attention to the culture among these tradesmen, and the artisanal work that they do, which was passed onto them from their fathers. Mrs. Şatana also shared some family stories, and details about their jobs. While listening to these stories participants felt nostalgic from time to time and their apettite grew.
After the seminar the participants were offered specialties purchased from some of the oldest establishments of İstanbul where the trade was passed from father to son.
