“The French Turkish Chamber of Commerce” in collaboration with Turkish-French Business Council, have hosted French chefs from Lyon in Istanbul.
The famous chefs of Lyon; Joseph Viola ( Meilleur Ouvrier de France « Daniel et Denise » à Lyon), Mathieu Vianney (Meilleur Ouvrier de France « LaMère Brazier » à Lyon ), Frédéric Berthod ( Toque Blanche du Monde « 33 Cité » à Lyon), Olivier Paget ( Toque Blanche Lyonnaise « L’âme soeur » à Lyon), Laurent Bouvier (Président des Toques Blanches Lyonnaises « Elleixir » à Limonest), Patrick Lannes ( Expert culinaire Président d’honneur des Toques Blanches du Monde), Philippe Bernachon ( Toque Blanche Lyonnaise Pâtisserie Bernachon à Lyon), Sébastien Bouillet ( Toque Blanche Lyonnaise Pâtisserie Bouillet à Lyon), Gilbert Reboul ( Toque Blanche Lyonnaise « Golf Club de Lyon » ) visited Turkey to attend the French Gastronomy Gala Dinner.
A night before the gala dinner, the chefs, visited Nar Lokanta, one of the leading Turkish restaurants, and YESAM (Culinary Arts Center). Vedat Basaran, President of YESAM, a prominent chef and an expert on Ottoman and Turkish Cuisines, accompanied the chefs during this dinner, in which he did a presentation on Turkish Cuisine while introducing the cookbooks that he had translated from Ottoman Turkish to contemporary Turkish. Basaran also explained making of “akide sekeri” (hard candy) and Turkish Delight, followed by a live demonstration performed by YESAM chefs. The guest chefs watched the show with interest while tasting the freshly made candies.
The French chefs who visited YESAM located inside Armaggan building in Nuruosmaniye, moved onto dinner, after the live candy demonstration. Dinner allowed chefs to taste a variety of Turkish dishes, that left them in awe before the Gala dinner the next day.

The Gala Dinner, presented by French-Turkish Lyon Business Club & Lyon French-Turkish Chamber of Commerce, that took place at Haliç Congress Center, with the attendance of French Ambassador Laurent Bili, Mayor of Lyon, Gerard Collomb, and leading people of politics, media and business world.
The French chefs, presented a plaque to Vedat Başaran, who shared information on Turkish cuisine, and invited them to an amazing dinner at Nar Lokanta and YESAM the night before the Gala Dinner.
