TCF- Culinary Arts Center hosted İbrahim Canbulat, an architect and a food culture researcher from Safranbolu, for a seminar on “Paphlagonia Kitchen; The Tastes from Western Black Sea” seminar, followed by a dinner event at NAR Lokantası.
The region that was known as Paphlagonia in the antique ages, is spread throughout the Western Black Sea region, today includes the cities of Kastamonu, Çankırı, Sinop, Bartın and Karabük. Mr. Canbulat, has been doing research and oral history interviews with the locals of the area to find out more about this region's food culture that is soon to be forgotten. During his seminar he gave extensive information on region's ingredients and the dishes cooked with these ingredients.
Following the seminar, the guests enjoyed a feast composed of special dishes of the Western Black Sea region.
