Vedat Basaran, Director of the TCF Culinary Arts Center - YESAM - was invited to join the world’s greatest chefs at an international culinary event organized by renowned chef and restaurateur Alain Ducasse and SBM (La Societe des Bains de Mer) to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Le Louis XV/Alan Ducasse. The event took place in Monte-Carlo on November 16-18 and brought together 240 chefs representing 25 countries, 5 continents, and 300 Michelin stars.
The anniversary event also featured an open market on 1000 square meters, featuring 100 of the best local producers. To make this event even more memorable, Alain Ducasse invited 10 of the 240 chefs to prepare dishes in their own style with the products offered. During this event, the local producers and guest chefs had a chance to interact, watch demonstrations and sample dishes prepared by the chefs. The highlight of the event was the gala dinner, which was attended by Prince Albert of Monaco and his wife, Princess Charlene.
Commenting on the event, Mr. Basaran said that the event highlighted Ducasse’s vision that the future of gastronomy rested in preserving Mediterranean cuisine and keeping local culinary culture as the base of our cuisines. He added: “The event drew attention to the importance of the bonds and continuity between different generations by bringing them together to identify the gastronomic dynamics for the future.”
